This class is sort of the wild card, it can be tailored to the student’s level of awareness. Veterinarians who do not wish to perform dentistry, body work or hoof care, but want to detail how all of the parts fit together to create balanced, healthy, sound horses are invited to learn and to share here. Trainers who want a comprehensive understanding of what their team of horse care givers could be doing to create self perpetuating wellness and soundness in their horses would benefit from this class. They would also be on the leading edge in assessing horses for purchase, knowing how much or little a horse under consideration could improve. Backyard horse owners interested in providing a holistic health care program for their beloved friends would be empowered with a solid understanding of how their horse works and how to be healthy with him. It can also be the right place for someone who isn’t as physically fit but wants to play as much of a part as possible in keeping horses’ well. This class is for anyone interested in delving deeper into how one keeps horses healthy, especially in this era of environmental illness.
Since Dr. Mack co-instructs dentistry, holistic horse health students definitely learn to identify pathology in the TMJ and how important that is to the horses’ overall well being. They will be able to identify 1) TMJ spacing 2) Anterior/Posterior movement of the mandible 3) Lateral excursion of the jaw 4) Incisor assessment; hooks, rims, wedges, waves, overjets/overbites, underjets/ underbites. They will sit in on several of the dental classroom discussions. The rest of the time will be customized to students interests.
We will cover using essential oils to keep horses healthy. Dr. Mack is well known for pioneering Equine Raindrop Therapy. She enjoys teaching this powerful essential oil treatment that enhances the immune system, alleviates spinal pain, can correct scoliosis, and generally invigorates the horse. Acupressure or acupuncture to qualified students, Homeopathy, Herbs, Deworming and Vaccination considerations, Infrasound, Laser therapy, Microcurrent techniques, Myofascial release techniques, healing meditations for yourself and your horse may be explored, ceremony, healthy lifestyle tips as well as conscious language are all possibilities for a holistic student. This is a co-creative class, and we will clearly reveal how healing is a co-creative process!
